My mission is to empower individuals, teams and organizations to thrive. I am driven by my passion to facilitate positive change with the individuals and organizations I work with.
Founded in 2004, The Kirwin Group Inc. partners with client organizations to provide progressive consulting support in key areas including strategic planning, change management, cultural development, team development, organizational design, leadership training and development, and facilitation in other crucial areas. I have extensive experience working with leaders as a trainer, facilitator, project leader, and process designer with a focus on building thriving workplaces. My depth of expertise provides a valuable and innovative approach to many organizational needs.
I have worked with both private and public sector organizations. I have also worked in higher education since 2006. I have worked with a number of universities in Ontario including McMaster University, Western, Queens, Ryerson, University of Guelph, University of Toronto, University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University.
I have completed a Masters in Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University specializing in Leadership and Organizational Behaviour. I also completed a Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology (CAPP) from the Wholebeing Institute, where I studied under Dr. Tal Ben Shahar from Harvard University. I have also completed a Masters in Science in Applied Positive Psychology from University of East London, England, which is one of the leading Universities in the field of positive psychology.
Organizations are all about the people. Although it has been said before, I truly believe that people are the greatest asset to an organization. I am passionate about helping organizations find the right people, and assisting them to build an engaged workforce where employees feel motivated and challenged in their work.

My consulting career has provided me with experience in all aspects of the employee life cycle. I have developed a specialty in the areas of employee engagement, recruitment, retention and organizational behaviour. I am excited to help organizations identify their challenges, and work with them to create targeted solutions to bring about change and find future success.
My educational background consists of a Specialized Honours degree in Psychology from the University of Guelph, and a Masters of Business Administration, with a focus on Management Consulting, from Royal Roads University, Victoria, BC.

As a trained social worker I support individuals on their journey of self-discovery through self-reflection and goal setting. I help my clients focus on action, both here and now and moving forward. My approach is practical, goal-oriented, judgment-free, encouraging, motivating, and empowering. I assist my client in prioritizing their needs and desires. The client sets the goals while I assist the client in maintaining focus on those goals and ultimately achieving them.
Among my areas of specialization are helping people improve relationships, reduce stress, encourage personal growth, enhance parenting skills, facilitate decision making, manage time, bolster motivation, clarify objectives, and develop concrete, attainable goals.

I began my educational background at the University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science, Honors in Family and Social Relations. In 1998 I graduated from Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York, with a Master of Social Work and in 2002 I received my Ph.D. from SUNY at Albany, Albany, New York.
